Na Fiánna PDF

Click to see the band's Flikr photostream Ireland's leading folk band Na Fiánna will be coming direct from Ireland to Nottingham to be the headline act for St. Patrick's free openair concert on the Market Square on Saturday March 17th 2012. They will be entertaining the crowd gathered in the Market Square from 11.00 as the parade gathers in the Forest Recreation Ground and makes its way through the city to the steps of the Council House. They will also be the top of the bill at our 'all afternoon' entertainment. (Click on the image to see the band's Flickr photostream.)

Na Fianna consists of Ross Hennessy, Lee Campion, John Walsh & Damian Walsh. They have been playing together since March 2007 and are all highly skilled musicians and  powerful singers. These young men are transcending generational barriers with their unique interpretation of Ireland’s rich heritage and are continuously building on their reputation as great entertaining balladeers.

Over the past four years they have played in many noted venues all over Ireland and and in other European countries. In 2009, Na Fiánna entered the All Ireland Talent Show, finishing second out of more than 6,000 competitors.

Westmeath Lead the 2012 Parade PDF
Image This year our festival 'twin' is the County of Westmeath which is located in the Province of Leinster in the North Central region of Ireland. This county was created from the ancient kingdom of Mide. The word Mide means middle which is where the kingdom was located within Ireland. This County is made up of many towns that include Mullingar, Delvin, Glassan, Kilbeggan, Finnea, and Horseleap. Tourists visit the County of Westmeath to enjoy the many lakes and waterways in the area. Some of the most popular tourist attractions in Westmeath include Fore Abbey which is an ancient monastery and also the Belvedere House. The Strokestown House & Famine Museum is also worth a visit. Besides the great ruins and museums you will find gardens and parks throughout the area. Westmeath also has wonderful fairs and festivals throughout the year.
